Program/Project Management

The Knowledge Link team approaches program/project management with techniques that bring order, control, and accountability to systems programs and projects.

Depending upon the development and implementation approach, the project management function will apply principles generally accepted in the industry.  For example, the planning, execution, and closedown of projects proceed according to the steps outlined in the Project Management Institutes’ Project Management Workbook

Knowledge Link project managers and ScrumMasters employ widely recognized tools of project management to minimize project risk and make the results as visible, predictable, and adaptable as possible.

No one can predict the future with a high degree of certainty.  Large, complex projects typically involve many layers of staff and evolve in a rapidly changing environment.  Accordingly, Knowledge Link draw on a wide range of project and program management tools and develop plans that can be adapted to new requirements on short notice.

In many cases, the Knowledge Link project manager or ScrumMaster says, “We can’t really devise a project plan in minute detail. We don’t  know in advance precisely what and when things are going to get done.”

On the other hand, when client needs call for a traditional project management approach, the Knowledge Link team deals with uncertainty differently: “Take your best guess.  Lay everything out on a project plan.  If we have to, we'll change the plan. But without at least one pathway to get where we want to go, we'll never get there.”
